Dr. Ramesh Subramanian is a PhD in Management Studies from SCSVCM, Kanchipuram, holds Masters in Commerce (M.Com) specialised in Advanced Accounts and Auditing, Certified Associate of the Indian Institute of Bankers (C.A.I.I.B), Masters in Law (LL.M) specialized in Mercantile Laws, Fellow member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India  (F.C.S), Fellow member of the Institute of  Cost Accountants of India (F.C.M.A), Associate member of Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (UK) - (ACMA CGMA (UK).

Experienced Professor with over 12 years in teaching, a demonstrated history of working in the Banking industry and financial services. Skilled in handling courses in Risk Management, Principles and Practice of Banking, Indian Financial System, Rural Finance, Legal Aspects of Business, Investment Banking & Portfolio Management, International Finance, Micro Finance, and Financial Products and Services, Corporate Taxation etc.

INDUSTRY

He was in Reserve Bank of India for 24 years and retired as Assistant General Manager. He has inspected the regulated entities - commercial banks, urban co-operative banks, non-banking finance companies.

In a commercial bank as Assistant General Manager for 4 years in charge of International Banking Division and Risk Management, his experience includes Policy formulation, Member Risk Management Committee of Executives, Member Audit Committee of Executives, Member Asset Liability Management Committee. He is credited with setting up the Risk Management Practice and implementation of Basel norms in the Bank.

In a Senior Management Position in IFMR Trust, Chennai for 3 years he was involved in Policy formulation, Audit Committee, Governance, Advocacy etc.

He moved to IFMR B School Chennai and was a full time Professor for over 8 years. In addition to teaching his roles included conducting management development programs, research and publications, mentoring students, guiding research scholars etc.

RESEARCH & PUBLICATIONS

Financial Inclusion and Banking Correspondent Model on behalf of a leading Stock Exchange.

Three research papers on Financial Inclusion – Micro Finance – Market Model which is available on the National Stock Exchange website. Published over 15 Articles with ISSN and ISBN number in International Journals with high impact factor including B journal (ABDC list)
