Dr S. Elankumaran is currently a Professor of Organizational Behavior & Business Ethics at Great Lakes Institute of Management, Chennai. Joined in 2012, he was Director of PGPM Flex (Weekend Executive MBA) for 10 years starting from 2013. He has been the Area Chair of OB & HR for over 10 years too.

A Ph.D. in Commerce from Pondicherry University, before joining Great Lakes, he was associated with premier institutions like the Management Centre for Human Values (MCHV) at the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta, T. A. Pai Management Institute and Amrita School of Business. He has over three decades of teaching and research experience in the field of management, He has taught courses like ‘Management by Human Values’, ‘Business Ethics’, ‘Ethics in International Business’, ‘Corporate Social Responsibility’, ‘Organizational Behavior’ and ‘Power & Politics in Workplace’.

His initial research interest was in Organizational Behavior, where he researched topics like personality, organizational climate, job involvement, and job satisfaction. His present research focus is on ‘Corporate Social Responsibility’, ‘Corporate Codes of Ethics/Conduct’, ‘Cross-cultural Study on Ethics, and ‘Leadership Spirit: Insights from the Past’. His research and writings have appeared in refereed international journals such as the International Journal of Value-Based Management, Journal of Human Values, Journal of Business Ethics, and Corporate Social Responsibility and Environmental Management. He is serving as a Doctoral Committee member of a few universities and also a reviewer of some journals of repute.

Further, in his long career, he has involved in training over 10000 senior managers in his areas of expertise for organizations such as Hyundai Motors, Sundaram Fasteners, HCL State Street, State Bank of India, Canara Bank, Bank of Baroda, Bharat Petroleum, ONGC, Ambuja Group, NTPC, Powergrid, Oil India Limited, GAIL India Limited and Tata Quality Management Services as a faculty and jointly coordinated some of them.
